During the month of February, the school commemorates Black History Month by doing a spirit week highlighting fashion, culture, and traditions within the African American community. From Feb. 10-14, students and staff members could participate in this year’s annual spirit week as each day had a different theme. Given the diverse ways in which African Americans express themselves, this event serves to showcase their unique identities.
Students and staff members showed up in their most vibrant and creative kicks on Monday as it was “Sneaker Day”! Sneakers became a powerful symbol of black culture, representing both style and activism. This day was a chance to honor the influence of black communities in fashion, sports, and music. Whether they were rocking iconic Jordans or custom designs, everyone participated in showcasing their love for black history through footwear, bringing energy and pride to the celebration. It was a day to step forward with style and solidarity, reflecting the enduring impact of black culture on modern trends.
Black History Month spirit week provided an engaging way to celebrate black culture, heritage, and contributions. Each themed day offered a chance for everyone to honor traditions, express pride, and reflect on the lasting impact of black history in various aspects of modern life.
